This is a beautiful Vintage Ringnes beer glass, Willi Becher style, in 0.33 liter capacity. Made for Oslo, Norway’s brewery by Rastal glass. Condition is "Vintage Used-Excellent.” No damage that we can find.
The famous Ringnes Pilsner was introduced to the market in 1886. This beer was among the first beers in Norway to be brewed with pure yeast. Ringnes Pilsner soon became popular and is today a best-selling beer in Norway. Ringnes Pilsner is well balanced with a light hoppy and malty aroma. It has a beautiful golden colour with a full, yet dry mouthfeel. The taste has a light malt sweetness reminiscent of hay and straw, with a well-balanced, rich bitterness.
Rastal beer glasses are custom made for the specific beer. The concept to make brand-exclusive glasses in 1964 turned into Rastal’s trademark. Taking their cue from the beers themselves, designers crafted the perfect glasses to cater to the flavor, aroma, and style of each beer, providing you with the best possible beer drinking experience, no matter your brand.
The Willi Becher glass was designed by Willy Steinmeier in 1954. Steinmeier worked for a company called Ruhr Glas in Essen, Germany, and the glass was named after him (the translation of becher is cup). It has a somewhat modern, streamlined appearance that is simple and utilitarian. It’s also versatile, working just fine with an array of beer styles. As it rises, the glass flares out gently to about two-thirds of the way up, where it then straightens. This promotes good head and aroma. It also makes it comfortable to handle and easy to store.
