Vintage 1966 Sears Designer Knitwear Kits, Matching Cardigan & Shell, 66% Mohair

For sale are two vintage Sears Designer Kits for knitwear originals created by Lisa Holmes of California. Included are kits number 5200 Cardigan and the matching 5201 Shell: each kit includes "Sears Finest Mohair Blend Yarn (66% Mohair / 34% Acrylic) for sizes 10, 12, 14; instructions, and embroidery thread & patterns. The recommended needle is #5 and crochet hook size 0 for finishing. According to handwritten notes on the cardigan pattern, kit 5200 contains 16.5 ounces of white, 1 ounce of green and 1/2 ounce of pink yarn. The pattern has a 1966 copyright date.
While there is shelf wear to the boxes, these kits have their own charm -- from the photography to the heavy vintage boxes -- and still look ready for a set of needles. The open boxes have an odor from cedar storage: it is very subjective but, in our opinion, the odor is not strong or overpowering, but is present.
