TIFFANY & CO. STERLING SILVER TROPHY ~ This trophy was awarded to the winner PRINCE SPELLBOUND at the EDDIE READ HANDICAP, DEL MAR 1983. Castle bowl sterling silver trophy engraved “DEL MAR 1983 EDDIE READ HANDICAP”. Silver placard on the base says “WINNER PRINCE SPELLBOUND OWNER WILLIAM L. PEASE”. The sterling silver trophy itself (excluding the non-sterling silver block base) weight is 27.7 ounces. Again the amount of sterling silver the trophy bowl is made of is 27.7 ounces. Trophy is approx 8” tall by 9.25” wide at its widest point. Sterling trophy without the base is approx 5 1/8” tall. Trophy is in very good condition with some tarnish as pictured. No noticeable dings. A very cool piece of horse racing history. This is the final winning Prince Spellbound trophy up for sale.
