Originally published in Rowan Book 10, Lovebirds is Nicky Epstein at her finest.  The very wearable colorway created from 11 shades of Rowan Wool and Cotton is a timeless classic.   Suitable for experienced intarsia knitters. The sweater can be made in any of three sizes - small with a finished bust measurement of 41 inches, medium with a finished bust measurement of 47 inches, and large with a finished bust measurement of 52 inches. Relaxed fit with dropped shoulder sleeves and a crew neck.   The pattern calls for a tension of 28 stitches and 34 rows to 4 inches (10 cm) on US 3 (3.25 mm) needles.  A very rare opportunity to knit the original design in the original colors.

Rowan Wool and Cotton was a 50/50 blend of Botany Wool and Pima Cotton.  It has been discontinued for many years.  Although there is a Wool/Cotton yarn in the current range, it does not knit to the same soft drape as the original yarn and the colors are not the same.
The kit contains a copy of the pattern with an oversized chart and all the original Rowan wool and cotton you need to finish the sweater in any of the sizes:  Black (924), Briar (910), Kashmir (910), Rosemary (922), Hazelnut (920), Sage (912), Dove (911), Natural (908), Alabaster (909), Chocolate (921), and Wedgewood (923).  A total of 27 balls.
As with all of our RareRowan kits, this pack has been carefully stored in a non-smoking home, and these vintage yarns and fabric will arrive to you in pristine condition.
