    Bandleader Hal McIntyre with his band & vocalist, Gloria Van were headed for Columbia studios in Hollywood to appear in a movie, and perform at the Palladium.
    Unusual Item
    Comic strip artist Al Capp contributed an original drawing of his hillbilly character Lil Abner as a "swoon" singer. See picture #2.
