Description
A pristine build, no corners cut, no expenses spared.Short version: This is a numbers matching 1978 FX, but that’s where anything original ends.
This is a true bare bones bobber in its purest form. One flip switch on the headlight, kick and go!
Absolutely show bike condition. Flawless.
Every single part on this bike is powder coated. Every nut and bolt was either sent out to black chrome, or replaced with new. Aside from the gas tank, and oil bag which were painted by a local professional (Brandon Martin).
The original motor was completely rebuilt from the ground up. This emphasis on the rebuild was less about performance and horsepower, but rather longevity and maintenance free reliability. (Normal compression, stock cam, etc.)
Crank was sent out and completely rebuilt and computer balanced.
Heads were sent out and complete redone
Crank shaft / cases were line honed.
OEM heads and cylinders, all powder coated
Hand split, powder coated rocker boxes
Custom stainless exhaust with removable baffles. (baffles are installed in video below).
Spec’d to the tightest tolerances
100% leak free!
OEM 4 speed ratchet top tranny is completely rebuilt with all new parts & Jims gears, and the special o-ring upgrade that prevents any leaks.
Frame is a 3 phase powder coat which fades from satin bronze to satin black. The first coat is jet black, second coat bronze tint, third coat is a Casper Clear (satin clear coat). If you look closely you can see the frame fades from black to bronze. Very subtle.
Completely custom leaf spring front end. This is a modified Springer front end. Custom leaf springs can be added, or removed. Right now it’s on a very stiff set up, but springs can be changed or removed.
Runs flawlessly and starts on the first kick. Properly broken in, and 100% reliable.
This bike was not built to be sold. In just about every case, we took the most expensive route possible. The actual cost for this build far exceeds the starting price of this auction. I simply have the itch to do another build, and am running out of room. I have receipts and video documentation of the build.
Special thanks to Pete Aceto from Top Dead Center, in Whitesboro, NY for creating one of the most pristine bikes I’ve ever seen.
