    NO BIKE COULD LEGALLY WIN
THE WAY OUR Z-1 DID AT DAYTONA.
    SO THEY THOUGHT.
To run in the open class race at Daytona a bike
must look stock, have stock displacement, and be
street legal. So when a bike wins that race by per-
forming like a full fledged GP bike,
    eyebrows are naturally going to
    be raised.
    That's what happened with our
    Dale-Starr equipped Z-1 Kawasaki,
when David Aldana won at Day-
tona with a giant half a lap lead.
    "Impossible...", said one rider,
and contested our bike, even after
it had been tom down and certi-
fied legal by the AMA officials. So
we tore it down again and proved
that it was indeed an open pro-
duction class bike in every way,
    shape and form.
    So what accounted for our
    DALE-STARR ENGINEERING
spectacular victory? It's something we call Thor-
oughbred Performance. That's what we build into
every Dale-Starr equipped bike. And we do that by
building them with the finest equip-
    ment and expertise available.
For instance, we have the best
Dyno in the industry. Only Ford and
GM have one like it. Our parts and
    workmanship are so reliable we
    warranty them for an extraordinary
2 years. And we have some of the
    brightest designers and engineers
    in the business.
    Actually, it isn't really surprising
that our Z-1 was contested at Day-
    tona. After all, open production
class bikes have never before per-
    formed the way Dale-Starr makes
    them perform.
