Absolutely Pointless
That's our Capacitor Discharge
Ignition system. New. Electronic.
Foolproof. There's not one
breaker point in it. No mechanical
contacts. No wear. It's a
magnetic system that builds up
high firing energy. Fast. And
the whole thing is factory set. For
life. You never have to adjust
it. That’s an exclusive. Bonus
number one.
Bonus number two is also an
exclusive. A surface gap spark plug.
What's that? A high energy
plug without the conventional
electrode hanging off the side at
the bottom. That bent thing
you have to keep gapping. And
cleaning. It's gone. Replaced
by an electrode that runs all the
way down the center of the
plug and is flush with the bottom
of it The firing goes on between
the electrode and the shell.
All the way around. 360° And
the firing is fast. And hot. So hot,
it's self cleaning. Anti-fouling.
That means you can idle without
revving and the plug won't
choke up with carbon. There aren't
any hang ups with heat ranges
either. That one plug does it,
whether lugging or turning high
rpms'. No matter what the tune.
Or the altitude. And you don't
sweat pre-igmtion anymore.
Needless to say you get a
longer life plug (up to four times
longer). More horsepower (upped
to 42 on the 350). And better
gas mileage (up to 20%) because
of much better fuel combustion.
The Capacitor Discharge
Ignition system, or CDI, if you like
abbreviations, is ours alone. So
no need looking elsewhere.
