1969 Kawasaki Hill Climbers original vintage advertisement.
DESCRIPTION:
Good old mountain do.
The climbers. 90, 120, 175, and 238cc‘s. Hill hungry rough-outs.
Cut their American teeth in the Mojave. And Baja.
They all have light and tough frames. Double cradle, tubular aircraft steel. It’s like having two frames. That’s important. They’re the safest made, and they'll take all kinds of trail pounding.
The machines are designed by aircraft engineers. Built to aircraft type specs. By one of the world’s biggest companies. One that knows engines. Builds all kinds. From just a few horses to a 28,000 horse ship's engine. That’s why we put two
strokers on most of our machines. Rotary valve two strokers. Because two strokes and the rotary valve give you a lot more power. More efficiency. Just what you’re looking for in the open country.
One of the machines, the 90, has what we call the first "second generation" rotary valve. New port angles. Tremendous power.
Eats hills alive.
The 120 is a convertible. Goes from a street to a trail machine with just a flip of a lever. By hand. With two separate sets of four forward gears.
The 175 is made for the boondocks. Adjustable suspension takes the
brush, rocks and gullies in stride. Has an easy change dual sprocket and an electric starter. Among other things.
And the 238cc, the Sidewinder is sort of for afficionados. It looks tough. And it is. Has a racing type steel rotary valve. A big 28 mm carb. And really wails.
